Da Komatsushima, dove abbiamo dormito ieri, a Toyo, dove siamo oggi, una lunga pedalata tra monti ricoperti di foreste, con vento contrario e temperature scese a 16°C.
Tra tempio 20 e tempio 21 anche la sosta in una scuola non più usata in un villaggio isolato in mezzo alla valle del fiume Naka, adibita ora a bagno pubblico.
Poi, prima di tempio 23, arriviamo sull'oceano, su una spiaggia bianca su cui le tartarughe da migliaia di anni depongono le uova.
In tutto questo impariamo che "strada litoranea " e "strada pianeggiante" non sono sinonimi in questa parte del mondo.
Incontriamo anche pellegrini che già ieri avevano incrociato il moatro cammino, loro in bus, e che trovano "tsugoi" due italiani che girino lo Shikoku in bicicletta e con la sella così alta.
Infine ci ritempriamo con un bel ofuro, rimpiangendo che certe tradizioni non siano radicate anche da noi.

From Komatsushima, where we slept yesterday, till Toyo, where we are today, we rode through forests covered mountains, with wind from the head temperatures dropped to 16°C.
Between temple 20 and 21 we stopped in an abandoned school, located in a village in the valley of Naka river, now used as public toilet.
Shortly before temple 23 we reach the ocean, on a white beach where, for thousands year, sea turtles lay their eggs.
In all this we learn that "coastal road" and "flat road" not synonym in this part of the world.
We meet again pilgrims we met before, travelling by bus and finding two italians on tall bikes "tsugoi".
Finally, we soak in a warm ofuro, wondering why such tradition is not in our costumes.
